FAMILY, and fresh apple cider doughnuts, crisp morning air, and breezy days full of gorgeous colors!

It’s been awhile since I have posted. So, if you are new to following The Farm at Crowders Creek and my blog posts, welcome to our website and my blog page! This is a blog where life is shared through the lens of faith, family and our farm.
Carl and I are excited you are here and that you found us in our little corner of Gaston County, North Carolina. We raise registered Hereford cattle in our cow/calf operation, seasonly raise heritage breed hogs for fresh pork products and enjoy being stewards of our family farm. We sell our farm-fresh beef locally to our regular customers and are proud to supply our ground beef and sausage to TheMustardSeedClover in Clover, South Carolina.
Rooted in faith and focused on the importance of our family, we steward our farm giving all the glory to God for the opportunity to call our farm home. In 2014, we bought the farm and moved from town and began the process of fixing up the family farm one project at a time. From fencing to a new barn, to updating the kitchen and bathrooms inside the home, every year has provided a new project to keep us busy.
Carl is retired from his career as a manufacturing engineer, while I still work in a neighboring school district as a school librarian. Carl has traded in his company car for a tractor and his emails and all of his sales calls and quote requests for working cattle and farm projects. Meanwhile, I have the privilege to share the love of reading with hundreds of students and hopefully inspire them to be lifelong learners and responsible digital citizens.
Our family of five has grown to thirteen and our five grandchildren are such a joy! We are all proud Buffalo Bills fans and love to visit family in the Buffalo area and attend as many games in Orchard Park as we can! Our children grew up loving the Bills and now the family tradition continues through the youngest in our family. #GoBills

Speaking of the amazing Bills fans and the universal #GoBills greeting, I got to thinking about my faith in Jesus and how awesome it would be if a similar universal greeting would spread by Christians to everyone. #GoJesus or something comparable would be so incredible to hear when people pass by on the street, or see someone wearing a cross necklace or apparel, or as a hello or goodbye. While the Bills have their “mafia”, Christians are a part of the most amazing family, the family of God. People can be so vocal and passionate about cultural things, yet the amazing gift of salvation through Christ is often quietly kept to ourselves. Following the Bills (or any team) brings joy to many and cheering for a favorite team is certainly a fun pastime. Yet, I can’t help but think about what ultimately matters, a personal relationship with Jesus and eternity in heaven! I hope I don’t let a day go by in which I fail to share Christ in some way with others so hope can be found in Jesus Christ! This has certainly given me something to think about. #GoJesus (John 3:16 and Ephesians 2:19-22)
