It’s Been A While…

Happy Friday from The Farm! Goodness, where does time go? It has been a hot minute since I wrote a blog post!

So, here’s a snapshot at real life from our little corner of the world since my last post. We have:

  • Welcomed five calves to the farm – #PulledThree
  • Prayed Emily through another surgery – #IHATECANCER
  • Visited Tyler while he’s on the east coast for some training – #GoNAVY
  • Took the camper on a road trip
  • Celebrated several family birthdays (including my 55th!!!)
  • Lifted up close friends battling cancer – did I mention that #IHATECANCER ?
  • Sewed a dress with a vintage 1930’s pattern
  • Started garden seeds
  • Continued garden prep
  • Hosted a spring Low Country Boil at the Pond House
  • Provided our local meats for sale at Wild & Whimsy in Gastonia
  • Continued to tackle our “To Do” List

Can you relate? The ups and downs of life…celebrations, disappointments, and all of the inbetweens; bringing joy, sorrow, concern, satisfaction and contentment. Life is complicated. Life is good! Thank you, Lord!

Of course, pictures highlight the best moments, but in the midst of all of the smiles can be tears. Celebratory tears, tears of sorrow in the face of disappointment, tears in goodbyes, and tears when there are no words…but God!

I love the words below, found in the book of Isaiah. God does uphold us. He is so big that we cannot begins to understand his amazing power and strength. I am so thankful for his ever present help, in the good, the bad and the everyday “normal” things!

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 41:10

As you go about your day, with all the good, bad and inbetweens, I hope you find comfort in the fact that God is walking through the “things” we face, WITH us. I can’t even begin to grasp just how incredible it is that God upholds each of us with his righteous right hand. The power in that gesture is amazing to me.

You all are in my thoughts and prayers. If you have something I can pray for, please leave me a comment below. It is truly a privilege for me to prayer for you! Have a wonderful day!

~Laura
