Bulldozing into 2021

Happy January 2021! If there has ever been a year that I was ready to bid farewell, it would be 2020! Here at The Farm at Crowders Creek, we are literally digging into this new year on a mission to carve out new pastures for our livestock! What a project! It’s a major undertaking, a true overhauling of what was, so that we can usher in what is yet to come! It’s exciting and nerve-racking. It’s necessary for progress, for the health of the farm and for our animals. I think there just might be a metaphor here somewhere!

Working on the back corner of The Farm!

With the right equipment and time, what seems like a huge, insurmountable task gradually gets accomplished, one tree or mound of dirt at a time.

Progress on the Pasture!

So, as I drove to work this morning, looking out over the field with fresh eyes, enjoying a clearer view, I was reminded of God’s plan for our lives. No matter what season we are in, whether it is the start of a new calendar year or midway through a tough season cluttered with emotional and physical debris that leaves us weary, God indeed has the right equipment and the time to help us clear the way for “greener pastures”. It may be a deep, soul-searching clearing and stumping of the overgrowth in our lives or a quiet whisper. Our God will equip us and meet our individual needs.

As we all gladly flip the calendar into 2021, I pray that you feel comfort in knowing that God loves us and he is steadfast and enduring, through political changes, fast-moving news cycles, pandemics and whatever else may be ahead, yet to discover.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)

So, for now, I am happily bulldozing into the new year, choosing gratitude for my blessings, anticipating what is yet to come, taking each bump in the road in stride. Thanks for stopping by the website to read the latest post! Let me know what plans you have for the new year? De-cluttering and organizing? Remodeling? Gardening? Sewing? Cooking? Whatever it might be, I can’t wait for YOU to dig in to your next project!

Take care,

Laura
