Hello from The Farm!
What a year 2024 had been! In spite of all of my goals to write and post regular blog posts, life happened and blog posts didn’t.
My last post was in March of this year. Since then we happily navigated engagement news for Tyler and Sam, dealt with the loss of a dear family friend, and took a family beach trip to the NC coast. Carl had his first knee replacement surgery of the year, I changed jobs, Hurricane Helene struck WNC and we then we joyfully celebrated , Tyler and Sam’s wedding. All sorts of things inbetween have ensued. Each day of this year has been a gift and for that, Carl and I are so thankful! If you have an extra minute, you can see a few wedding pictures here on the website on the “Photos” page.
As I type this on Wednesday, November 6th, I am baking pecan pies for a special luncheon and I am listening to tv commentary on the historic presidential election results. God is good, merciful and at work in our country. My continued prayers are lifted up for our current leaders and for President Trump and his incoming cabinet and team. I can’t help but think of Proverbs 3:5-6, verses that have been guiding me for years.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.”
As our country moves forward after this pivotal election, my prayer is that we do indeed trust in the Lord, prayerfully seeking his will. I humbly ask you to join me in praying for our nation, our leadership and especially President Trump and his family.
Meanwhile, back at the farm:
Wishing you all a wonderful November and a special season of Thanksgiving.
