Happy New Year!

What a year 2021 was for our family! Celebrations, laughter, tears, loss, sickness, healing, deployment for our sailor, farm projects (new calves & raising hogs) and our 30th anniversary! As we usher in 2022, we are so thankful for what was and excited about what will be in the new year. With faith, family and our farm at the center of it all, we turn our eyes to the blank slate of a new year, no doubt full of joyful moments, unexpected circumstances, tears, celebrations and everything in between.

Those of you who read my blog know that Carl and I have been breathing new life back into our family farm in North Carolina. Seven years ago we bought the farm and have been working on all sorts of projects ever since. As promised, here are some before and after pictures of our home remodel project which began on September 1, 2021. We finished everything on December 23, just in time for our family Christmas celebration!

We love being stewards of this home that Carl’s grandparents built on the original farmhouse home sight in 1970. While there was some attachment to the old laminate counter tops, lol, I am so excited to show you the new kitchen! We feel so blessed to be able to start making new family memories in the updated spaces of our home.

Living in the middle of a remodel protect for almost four months was trying, to say the least, so we are glad to see that project in the rearview mirror of 2021. With thankful hearts, we turn our eyes to what God has in store for us in the new year!

Here’s a look back at a few family memories from 2021:

So, here’s to 2022! May it be a year of peace, grace, and joy that is possible through faith in Jesus Christ! Carl and I wish you all the best! Thanks for following along with us as we restore our North Carolina Century Farm one project at a time!
